In 2016/2017:-

Some of the directors were able to offer work experience to interns in the construction team at Walker Morris and the family team at Simpson Millar.

One of our interns (a third year law student at Leeds Beckett) secured a position as a paralegal at a Leeds firm immediately following her degree.

One of our interns was an international student who learned valuable skills about working in the UK.

What our interns had to say about their time with LLS:-

“I have really enjoyed my Internship at Leeds Law Society; the whole experience has been very beneficial. I have had many networking opportunities which has been very useful to me personally and professionally.  I used to be afraid to approach solicitors at networking events and be anxious that I would ask the wrong questions. Having an internship at Leeds Law Society has allowed me to improve my networking skills drastically. I appreciated being given the opportunity to represent Leeds Law Society, informing others of what Leeds Law Society does for the legal community in Leeds and sharing my enthusiasm of how great Leeds is, was enjoyable.”

“I had never worked in an office before my internship. I have gained valuable skills such as how to use databases, help arrange and set up for events and generally what it is like to work in an office environment. Having the opportunity to internship at Leeds Law Society alongside studying at University has been extremely valuable. I have really enjoyed meeting new people and everyone at Leeds Law Society is brilliant to work with.”

“Overall it was a great learning experience which I really enjoyed as well. Most importantly I felt really comfortable and welcomed at LLS, and I truly felt like I was a part of the team.”

“While working as an intern at Leeds Law Society I gained lots of practical and legal experience.”
