Tom Matusiak

Director of Leeds Law Society and Legal Director at Stewarts Law

Tom is a solicitor advocate at Stewarts, a firm specialising in high value and complex disputes. He collaborates with commercial disputes lawyers and many others to enhance the quality, delivery, innovation, funding and promotion of Stewarts’ litigation services.

Tom read Law at Downing College, Cambridge University. A decade of experience as a client-facing lawyer included six years at Herbert Smith in London (including secondments to Japan National Oil Corporation in Tokyo and to the Herbert Smith Advocacy Unit). Tom has worked in many areas of complex commercial and financial litigation, as well as in competition litigation, arbitration, both public and private international law, and mediation.

Tom now advises Stewarts’ lawyers on funding, risk and regulation, legal and industry knowledge, e-disclosure, and Stewarts’ legal relations. He works mainly with the Commercial Disputes groups of Stewarts: Commercial Litigation, Securities Litigation, Competition Litigation, International Arbitration, Tax Litigation, Trust and Probate Litigation, and Employment Litigation. A member of the KM team, Tom interfaces with: client-facing lawyers, management, project managers, costs lawyers, IT, marketing, and HR.

He enjoys family time, photography, listening to records and visiting South America.
