An update from our President, Catherine Woodward. Leeds Law Society has adapted well to the various challenges in the legal and business sector over the last 150 years and has thrived throughout as a result. The last 2 years have seen many big operational changes and challenges in the legal sector. Like our members, our Leeds Law Society employees have been working from home and our offices have been closed. We have continued to deliver services to our members throughout the pandemic, and we have had great success with our online events and our employees and services have adapted well. We have therefore decided to extend the closure of our Leeds office based on Wellington Street and maintain our virtual office platform for the immediate future. We will continue to host online events and as our members start to return to their workspaces, we will be launching face to face events this year too. This will reduce costs and allow us to explore opportunities to sub-let the office and secure serviced offices for Leeds Law Society. The immediate savings made on little used office space will be redirected to our membership offering and we hope that making the move toward more sustainable provision of services will allow us to reduce our environmental impact. We will be reviewing the service this change gives to members on a regular basis and hope to update you all further in the next 6 months. If you do have any queries could you please direct these in the first instance to Rachel Windle, Head of Operations at Leeds Law Society via e-mail on Rachel.windle@leedslawsociety.org.uk Yours sincerely Catherine Woodward President of Leeds Law Society for and on behalf of the Directors of Leeds Law Society |
